This week has been quite interesting, enough to forget to post in my blog right here.
On monday, I ended up copying the questions to my calculus homework. I left my review work at home. Well, when we get at first period, she told us that we arent doing anything because we had a surprise guest speaker from the Navy. He was a pretty cool person, explaining basic nuclear reactors with details. He wasnt one of those fake people the military sends in to make you think that they are smart. The best part was when he was explaining how he got into the Navy. He made a comment that when he was thinking of the Navy, the first thing that came to his mind that the Navy was “full of fags”. When he said that, I looked at Mama Tank and she opened her eyes and mumbled “My SON is in the Navy!”
Tuesday and Wednesday, we had no homework; pretty easy days there. On Thursday, we did nothing in Government, Accounting, or Drivers Ed. That was more of a catch-up-on-your-sleep day. On Friday, the day went quick and we had a great science bowl meeting. I had 9 points in the long run and Ethan just pwned with 20 some.
The best day was yesterday. We woke up to the Science Bowl competition at 6 AM, and got at McDonalds at 6:30 to meet everyone there to ride in Peter’s Spy-Van. At the competition, the first four games we just owned. One of them I believe was 80 something to 4 (FOUR!). I was more excited when I was good enough that Tank let me stay in all the rounds, but that kinda made me slightly exhausted after the 4th round. We then ate lunch in which we had a couple of presentations. We won a fuel-cell miniture car which we are going to build tommorrow sometime. On the fifth round, we got pretty much chewedup and spit out by Oak Ridge, but that was kind of expected. The 6th round, we were so tired of playing and were at a point where we where just asking to leave. But instead, we lost again to someone that we expected to win against (I thought they guessed on the multiple choice questions… When they got one wrong, it was just like, WHY THE HECK DID YOU ANSWER THAT!? kind of feelings). In that round, a question was about isobars on a weather map. I knew that answer by heart. When he said “W. Windy conditions” I was all up on that one, pressed the button, and spurt out the answer. I just gave up at that point: I wasnt verbally recognized. Eh, itsok.
Oh, and we had a wbir report where our team just owned the screen for a good 20 seconds. I had a full-screen thing for a couple of seconds and then Peter and Robbie (spelling? heh) was on screen for a couple of seconds. They even made the comment, “Some of the smartest kids in Tennessee was in Blount county today.” <– Yay! We are teh smartz!
Then I got home and took a nap.
